YEHANS INTERNATIONAL · ACCRA, GHANA
Yehans International provides steel bridge design, fabrication and installation solutions for infrastructure projects in Ghana. Discuss permanent or temporary crossings, site access and pedestrian connections with a project scope built around the location, intended use and engineering requirements.

BRIDGE DESIGN & SITE ASSESSMENT
Every bridge begins with an understanding of the site. The required span, deck width, vehicle or pedestrian use, ground conditions and approach roads influence the structural arrangement and foundations. A bridge serving heavy vehicles requires a different specification from a pedestrian walkway.
For river crossings in Ghana, seasonal flows, flood levels, debris and erosion must inform the design. Surveys, geotechnical investigations and hydraulic assessments should be included where required, alongside the applicable approvals and engineering review.
ROAD, PEDESTRIAN & MODULAR BRIDGES
Steel bridge options include beam and truss arrangements for suitable spans and loading requirements. Road crossings need coordinated deck, barrier and approach details. Pedestrian bridges require attention to walking surfaces, accessibility, handrails and user comfort.
Prefabricated or modular steel bridges can be considered for temporary access, replacement crossings and permanent infrastructure. Their suitability depends on the selected system, foundations and site constraints. Temporary use still requires a defined load capacity and an engineered installation.

STEEL FABRICATION & INSTALLATION
Steel bridge fabrication should follow approved drawings and documented material, welding, connection and inspection requirements. Accurate detailing helps align components, deck systems and bearing interfaces before delivery to the site.
Installation planning must account for access routes, component sizes, lifting equipment and temporary stability. Foundation readiness, traffic management and work around waterways should be coordinated with the erection sequence. Our project discussions clarify responsibility for civil works, fabrication, transport and installation.
CORROSION PROTECTION & MAINTENANCE
Steel bridge durability depends on suitable detailing, corrosion protection and ongoing care. Coating or galvanising specifications should reflect the environment, fabrication requirements and maintenance strategy. Coastal exposure and moisture around river crossings deserve particular attention.
An inspection plan should address the steelwork, connections, deck, bearings, drainage and foundations. Coating damage, water retention and erosion should be assessed promptly. For an existing bridge, repair recommendations should follow an appropriate condition assessment rather than appearance alone.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Cost depends on span, width, loading, bridge type, foundations, deck, corrosion protection and site access. Design, transport, installation and approach works also affect the total. A quotation should clearly identify the included scope and any provisional allowances.
Yes, when specifically designed for the required vehicle loading. Capacity must be established through engineering design and verification. Provide the intended vehicle types and operational requirements; dimensions alone do not confirm load capacity.
Some modular systems can serve permanent crossings when designed and specified for that use. Suitability depends on loading, durability, foundations, deck details and approval requirements. Temporary and permanent applications should be assessed separately.
The programme depends on investigations, design approvals, material procurement, fabrication and civil works. Transport access and erection arrangements also matter. A realistic schedule can be prepared once the project scope and site information are available.
Send the location, intended use, approximate span and width, site photographs and available surveys or drawings. Include loading requirements, flood information, access constraints and whether you need design, fabrication, installation or a wider construction package.
